    Backstory
    Rook Blackwood, born Christian Hughes was an ordinary man whose life shifted from mundane to dangerous in an instant. In his thirties, stuck at a desk job in London, he felt trapped in a stagnant routine until he fell in love with someone across the world. Taking a leap of faith, he abandoned his grey existence for something far more unpredictable.

    At first, life seemed promising. There were dates, new experiences, and friendships. Together with his partner, he launched a DJ business called The Den. But as their relationship deepened, so did Rook’s awareness of something darker beneath the surface. Suspicious deals, unfamiliar faces, and missing money raised alarm bells. When he confronted his partner, it sparked a violent conflict that ended in death.

    Blamed for what happened, Rook disappeared. He shut everything down and went into hiding but he wasn’t alone for long. With his former partner’s family seeking revenge after a bitter and sudden “divorce,” he was forced to change everything: his name, his appearance, his identity.

    Drawing on childhood memories and a strange fondness for clowns, he reinvented himself as Shmebo the Clown a playful yet unsettling figure with a mischievous voice and a darker edge beneath the surface. A thrill-seeker with careful intent, Rook still longs for something simple: connection, understanding, a sense of family.

    But his world refuses to stay still. Whether he finds redemption, descends into chaos, or finally begins again remains uncertain.
